Born in Toulon in 1967, Thierry Spada is, since his childhood, passionate about art and graphic design in advertising.

After several years spent as a restorer of old posters, it is quite naturally that he decided to destructure the old posters and to reappropriate each fragment of paper.

It is in Toulon that Thierry Spada decided to create his workshop in which he tears, cuts, sticks his posters, being inspired by collagists such as Jacques Villeglé, Mimmo Rotella and great masters like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein an artistic tendency resolutely Pop Art.

The works are all made from movie posters from the 1960s to the 1980s. Several hundreds of original posters are necessary to
to realize the works. The totality of the posters is used, each fragment of poster finds its place in one of the works. The notion of recycling, as well as the ecological approach are an integral part of the approach.
