Overview

Since 2001, 12 steles have marked the stations of the Way of the Cross, along the traditional route of the processions to the Virgin Mary, from the Saint-Nazaire Church to the Chapel of Notre-Dame de Pitié.

Taking a little height for a remarkable view of Sanary and its surroundings is one of the merits of the rise of the oratories, which also offers a colourful palette of Mediterranean plants. It is punctuated by 8 stations of the Way of the Cross, as well as by four ancient oratories, along the traditional route of processions to the Virgin Mary from the Church of St-Nazaire.

Made of blackcurrant stone, they include a pedestal, a pyramidal crowning and an icon painted by the artist Véronique Tatoué Liochon. At its summit, the ultimate reward : the Chapel of Notre-Dame de Pitié.
