Overview

Since 2001, 12 steles have marked the stations of the Way of the Cross, along the traditional route of the processions to the Virgin Mary, from the Saint-Nazaire Church to the Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy.

Taking a little height for a remarkable view of Sanary and its surroundings is one of the merits of the rise of the oratories, which also offers a colourful palette of Mediterranean plants. It is punctuated by 8 stations of the Way of the Cross, as well as by four ancient oratories, along the traditional route of processions to the Virgin Mary from the Church of St Nazaire.

Made of blackcurrant stone, they include a pedestal, a pyramidal crowning and an icon painted by the artist Véronique Tatoué Liochon. At its summit, the ultimate reward: the Chapel of Notre Dame de Pitié.
