Dolphin watching by boat from Porquerolles, aboard the ship “Croix du Sud V.”
We offer a 4-hour dolphin watching cruise off the coast of the Hyères Islands.
Right from the start of the cruise, we may be lucky enough to encounter groups of bottlenose dolphins frequenting the island's coastal area. Further out to sea and approaching the underwater canyons, there are three other species of dolphin:
the striped dolphin (the most abundant species in the Mediterranean), Risso's dolphin, and the long-finned pilot whale.
Depending on the encounters we have and the time remaining, we will try to reach more distant whale areas.
Accompanied by naturalists and photographers from “Découverte du Vivant,” we will offer a lecture on board, as well as microphone presentations, covering biological concepts related to all the species encountered during the trip. The Croix du Sud V holds the “High Quality Whale Watching” label, a guarantee of sustainable and respectful whale watching.
During each cruise, a photo report is provided free of charge by the naturalists of Découverte du Vivant.
