Overview

Sanary has always been home to a fleet of fishermen. The activities had their golden age at the beginning of the 20th century.

Thus, Sanary has always sheltered a fleet of fishermen and maritime activities, gathered around the prud'homie.

The elected prud'hommes have a judicial power under the direction of maritime affairs, they regulate conflicts and manage territories and resources.

12 fishermen are still active. Together with about ten former professionals, now retired, they bring their fish back to the port every day and sell them.

You will find them every morning (depending on the weather as well as their fishing) on the port of Sanary.
