The naturalist diver. The diver and underwater life.

This year, as part of "L'Art Bleu", the Musée Frédéric Dumas wishes to highlight an emotion experienced by scuba divers: the wonder of discovering the underwater world, its landscapes and above all its flora and fauna.

There isn't a single new diver who, once they've got over the apprehension of their first immersion, isn't impressed and bewitched by their surroundings. By the new world they discover, populated by animals each more astonishing than the last. Once they're past the stage of wonder, divers will want to know what they're seeing: animal, vegetable? Common, singular? And they'll want to keep a record of what they've seen and share it with others.

L'Art Bleu presents what the scuba diver sees and studies, but above all presents the results of his observations. Restitution takes a variety of forms, from the most traditional to the most modern. From naturalist illustrations to underwater photography and high-definition video. Naturalist guides, immersible leaflets, websites that can be consulted live, always with the assistance of a specialist to guide the visitor. Two conferences and a signing session for naturalist guides published by MEDITERRANEUS will punctuate the exhibition on Thursday April 11.
