Sanary offers superb contrasting seascapes, alternating between rocky coves, sandy beaches and pebble beaches.

Children and adults alike will enjoy a wide range of water activities (diving, surfing, kayaking, paddling, snorkeling).

The Lido and Dorée beaches , near Bandol, are the most extensive and are ideal for families, because of there shallow water.

More sheltered and close to the city center, the Portissol beach, with its crystal clear water, is renowned for its exceptional seabed, which you can admire thanks to the underwater path, accessible in summer (only with reservation at the Tourism Office and supervised by an eco-guide).

Smaller and more intimate but just as attractive, are the beaches of La Gorguette (sand) and Baie de Cousse (pebbles).

Finally, more atypical Le Levant beach is located in the city centre, near the Esplanade car park, a pleasant and practical place to cool off in summer ( first aid post and shower nearby).

Sanary’s beaches are smoke-free sites. This ban makes it possible to protect the most vulnerable users from the harmful effects of passive smoking and also to reduce the dissemination of cigarette butts in the sand and in the sea, a source of pollution.

The bathing area is supervised during school holidays (all zones), weekends and public holidays in April and May and every day from June to September, by qualified lifeguards(BNSSA), assisted by first-aiders.

The Lido beach and the Portissol beach have the Handiplage level 3 label.
